The Electrical Engineer – Video and Power Systems will be part of the engineering design teams to incorporate advanced technologies that result in robust Pro AV type products for use in our customers’ installations.

This is a hands-on position.  This is not a remote or hybrid position.

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Electronic Systems design, implementation, and test of analog and digital hardware for video processing and transport with interfacing products.
  • The design work will include developing design specifications, supporting board-level design including, researching/specifying components, schematic development and capture, PCB layout and stack-up, simulation, DFM review and design verification.
  • Hands-on work will include board bring-up, trouble shooting, blue wire modification and test verification.
  • Develop test strategies, devices, and systems.
  • Perform stress and performance tests on a variety of electronic hardware including circuit boards, processors and wiring.
  • Define product level test and simulation strategies.
  • Maintain and archive electronic project files.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • BSEE Degree, or comparable technical degree.
  • MSEE a plus.

SKILLS:

  • 3+ years’ experience designing mixed signal/analog/high speed digital circuits.
  • Working knowledge of digital video interfaces, especially HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and SMPTE video standards.
  • Familiar with designing embedded products including block diagramming, schematic capture, power estimation, thermal consideration, layout floor planning, signal integrity, EMI mitigation and reliability planning.
  • Familiar with interfacing with microcontrollers and application processors, high-speed memory (DDR2/3/4), and data communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, SDIO, Ethernet, PCIe.
  • Familiar with integrating CPLDs and FPGAs at the board level.
  • Familiar with C programing, Verilog and VHDL is a plus.
  • Familiar with ethernet networking concepts and integrating networking components (Ethernet PHYs and Switches) into products.
  • Familiar with electronics design and simulation tools.
  • Experience in hardware debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small group of focused and talented engineers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (clear and concise technical writing).
  • Strong attention to details, highly organized, self-starter.
  • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Salary range: $80,000 – $130,000
