About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Leader to join a forward-thinking engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electrical Engineering Manager will lead the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic systems, ensuring the highest levels of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the requirements, design, and development of advanced circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and electronic systems.
- Oversee the PCB design and artwork process, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct engineering analyses, lead peer reviews, and provide expert technical guidance for complex projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to deliver mission-critical solutions.
Process Improvement
- Implement best practices to enhance product quality and development efficiency.
- Train engineering personnel and ensure compliance with established processes.
- Research and integrate advancements in components, design technologies, and processes.
Project Management
- Define budgets, schedules, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for development programs.
- Track and report on project metrics, identify areas for improvement, and support program reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, TRR).
Administrative Leadership
- Manage engineering personnel, including performance reviews, training, and career development.
- Support recruiting efforts, task assignments, and resource allocation based on project requirements.
New Business Development
- Contribute technical expertise to proposal development, cost estimation, and customer engagement.
- Author technical papers and represent the organization at industry events as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Designing embedded systems with processors (ARM, x86, PowerPC).
- High-speed PCB design and data communication protocols (Ethernet, ARINC, CAN, RS-422, PCIe).
- Conducting engineering analyses (timing, latency, bus loading).
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary design teams.
- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an Engineering Manager in a matrix organization.
- Knowledge of FPGA technologies, EMI design mitigation, AI/ML concepts, and industry standards (MIL-STD, DO-254).
- Familiarity with video interfaces, RTOS (e.g., VxWorks), and modular product architectures (VPX, SOSA).
